The world trade, rapidly increasing after the second half of the 20th century, the liberalization of trade, the rapid flow of goods and services, the inexhaustible demand for goods and services, and the mass production that emerged in parallel with this, led to the growth and globalization of companies (production, finance, human resources, marketing, etc.) has arisen to manage effectively and efficiently.
Although international trade is an old economic activity, it is getting more complex and expertise due to globalizing economic relations. A large number of financial products have emerged in the international financial markets to finance foreign trade. Firms have great requirements for specialists who are familiar with modern foreign trade transactions, various documents and financing procedures. On the other hand, logistics applications have gained great importance in today's economic relations and foreign trade. Logistics costs of firms have reached great rates. Since this area requires expertise, companies increasingly transfer these activities to logistics companies. For these reasons, expertise in the fields of international trade and logistics is surely seen among the trendy professions of today and tomorrow.
Providing specific training to these areas in the world and in our country has become inevitable with the developing economic environment. Because, after the internationalization of trade and business, logistics has made it obligatory to have this feature. In this sense, our country is home to many large and small businesses that provide logistics services.
The main purpose of the International Trade and Logistics department program is for graduates; while they have gained all the literature in the world about international trade and logistics, which is an indispensable element of this trade, they are able to solve the problems they may encounter when they are involved in business life, and they have a critical perspective on the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the international dimension of trade. In addition to adopting a lifelong learning approach, analyzing and interpreting what is learned in the international arena in the context of the organizations they work with, interpreting their ideas and solutions to problems, conducting national and international interpretation and interdisciplinary analysis, and applying the principles of quality and efficiency in business life knowing and practicing, complying with the requirements of business ethics, having social, scientific and ethical values.
